CONVEYANCE

Rail :

Train facilities are available to various directions like Secunderabad/Hyderabad, Vishakapatanam, Howarah, Varanasi, Kochi, Mumbai, Bellary, Madurai, etc.There are also some trains going via Renigunta/Gudur to different places which do not touch Tirupati.Renigunta at a distance of 10 Kms from Tirupati is the most convenient point to alight.

In South Central Railway, Tirupati is connected by rail with, Madras via Renigunta;
Vijayawada, Hyderabad via Gudur; Coimbatore, Bangalore, Cochin via Arkonam, Tiruchi etc;

The rail head is Tirupati East.Renigunta which is at a distance of 10 Kms is the most convenient point to alight.Direct train services to Tirupati are available from :

Hyderabad - Rayalaseema Express,Venkatadri Express,Krishna Express;
Madras - Narayanadri Express;
Madurai - Sapthagiri Express,Tirupati Express;
Puri - Tiruchirapalli Express;
Howrah - Tirumala Express;
Kolhapur - Howrah Express;
Bombay,Delhi & - Haripriya Express:
Vasco - Direct Bogies;

Railway tickets can be bought directly to Tirumala from any station in India.There are a number of town buses every 15 minutes from the bus station and also from the railway-station, Tirupati (Bus fare Rs 1.00 only).

Road :

Tirupati is connected by road to all the major towns and cities of South India.

704 Kms from Hyderabad (via Suryapeta, Vijayawada, Guntur, Gudur & Sri Kalahsthi)
617 Kms from Hyderabad (via Kurnool, Cuddapah & Bakarapeta)
131 Kms from Madras (Red hills, Uthukkottai, Nagalapuram, Puttur & Renigunta)
147 Kms from Madras (via Poonamalli, Tinvallur, Tiruttani, Nagari & Puttur)
170 Kms from Madras (via Red hills, Thada, Kalahasti)
248 Kms from Bangalore (via Kolar & Chittoor)
1261 Kms from Bombay (via Pune, Belgaum, Dharwad, Harihar, Tumbon, Bangalore)
2887 Kms from Calcutta (via Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada)



Direct buses to Tirupati are available from almost all important towns of Andhra Pradesh and also from places like Madras, Coimbatore, Salem, Bangalore, Chitradurga & Pondicherry in a radius of about 600 Kms.



Return journey tickets will be issued by APSRTC plying from Tirupati to Tirumala and back for the convenience of the pilgrims.It is valid for a period of 3 days from the date of issue ( Ticket value for adults Rs 16.00; for children Rs 8.00;)

Tirumala:
APSRTC is running buses from Tirumala to various places like Madras, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Sriharikota, Chittoor, Madanapalli, etc.Places direct by buying the tickets then and there which would be more convenient to the devotees for reaching their home town well in advance for attending to their routine work.

Road:
Regular bus service from Tirupati to Tirumala almost every three minutes from 3.30 a.m to 11 p.m, Bus fare : Rs 8.00 per head.Admission controlled by queue system.Link service buses are provided for direct passengers upto 11 p.m every day by A.P.S.R.T.C.

Buses for Hire:
A.P.S.Road Transport Corporation runs a contract carriage service of 46 seating capacity between Tirupati and Tirumala.Rate for single journey per bus : Rs 410.00 + Rs 75.00

Rail Cum Road & Road Cum Rail Facility:
Rail Cum Road & Road Cum Rail Ticket (RCRT) facility is provided for the passengers leaving from Tirumala Hills.Passengers can surrender the rail cum road tickets at S.V.Bus stand and exchange for bus tickets to go to Tirumala Hills.Likewise passengers can purchase road cum rail tickets and board the bus without surrendering the tickets, in this case tickets can be shown to the bus authorities for reference.

Foot Path:
Two Footpaths are there to Tirumala through the seven picturesque hills.

Commonly Used:
Alipiri (foot of the hills) to Tirumala from Chandragiri side 5 Kms. Many climb up these paths as part of their vow and visit the famous shrines on the way.

For the convenience of the pilgrims, the APSRTC is running a bus station near Alipiri (Hill view guest house) and the buses are plying every 10 minutes.During Brahmotsavams and important occasions like January 1st, buses will ply on the Ghat roads round the clock with the prior approval of the competent authority.
